yule coalescent and forcing monophyl

Hi,

I am running the yule coalescent and was under the impression I needed to force monophyl for all my trees. But I never get convergence if i do this. Without forcing monophyl, I get convergence. Can anyone tell me if I have to force monophyl for yule coalescent across the board? Thanks,
