emacs + org + beancount as minor

Dear all,

I use emacs (spacemacs) with org. I have included beancount and I can open a file in beancount as major-mode with all the key-bindings etc.. However, I don't manage to apply beancount as minor mode (so that I can use it in combination with org).

In the beancount.el file I use, it says:

;;; beancount.el --- A major mode to edit Beancount input files. -*- lexical-binding: t -*-

In the documentation, a minor mode is mentioned. What do I miss?

The documentation is outdated, we made beancount-mode a major mode a
little while ago. You can use outline-minor-mode to have (what was
deemed to be a sufficient) subset of the functionality enabled by
org-mode. Please see some other threads in this mailing lists for the
details.

Where does the documentation mention a minor mode? I'll would like to
update it.

thank you for your answers! I will first try the set-up with beancount as major mode then.

The minor mode is mentioned in the Getting Started Documentation, right at the beginning at Emacs:

Also later, in the section Preamble to your Input File, the file example seems to introduce beancount as a mode next to org.
