Thank you all for the wonderful beancount & fava.

With fava, I can easily get a balance sheet for the end of a year (p.e. 2024).
By selecting the year 2023 I can get the balance sheet for the beginning of that year.

I would really love to get these 2 reports in one: a balance sheet for the beginning of a period & the end of that period.

A bit like this:
Description   1-1-2024  31-12-2024
Assets         1.00           2.00
....

Would that be possible?
Do I need fava dashboards for that?
If so, any pointers in that direction?

Thank you!

I'd try the Balances view inside the journal and play around with the time period to ensure I'm seeing what I truly want, similar to:

Thank you for your reply.
I am sorry I wasn't clear enough. I am looking for a report like @ the url /balance_sheet with for each journal in a row, a column for year x and a column for year x-1.

Yep, that's what I understood. You can’t get exactly that, but the link I posted earlier gets you close: you’ll have to do Assets and Liabilities separately. See below. Please post a mock-up if that's not it.

Thank you.
No matter what I try, I can't get any values in the previous year column like in your example. See attached screenshot. What am I missing?

I’m not sure what’s going on at your end, but to debug it, this fava pythonanywhere demo works. I’d start there and replicate it at your end.
