Hi everyone,
I'm excited to share a project I've been working on, a native macOS desktop application for Beancount called
Beanquick.
What is Beanquick?
Beanquick is an entry tool for Beancount designed to complement the command-line workflow, making daily transaction entries faster and more intuitive. It's designed to be:
Client-Side & Privacy-Focused: Your financial data is stored locally on your Mac and never leaves your machine. Beanquick is completely offline.
Out-of-the-Box: No complex setup or configuration needed. Just open your Beancount file, and you're ready to go.
Streamlined for Efficiency: The app is focused on making the most common tasks—like adding new transactions—as frictionless as possible, with features like autocompletion for accounts,
Jinja2 templates expansion.

Beanquick is free to download and use from the Mac App Store. My focus is on building a transparent, community-driven tool, and I plan to make the project fully open-source soon.
I would be incredibly grateful if you could try out Beanquick and share your feedback. Your insights will be invaluable in shaping the future of the app.
You can download it directly from the
Mac App Store.
