Floating a block over a figure

Greetings,

I have a large graphic (from gnuPlot in eps + TeX form) that I would
like to partially obscure (cover) using a block environment. I didn't
see a way to place a block at an arbitrary position in the docs. Is
there some other way to do this?

You could directly edit the tex-part of the graphic or you could build
something akin to that.
