A problem with beamer

Hello,

I've been having the following problem with beamer lately. When I
compile my .tex file with pdflatex, I get this error message pointing
to the file beamerouterthemesidebar.sty:

ERROR: Undefined control sequence.

--- TeX said ---
\Gm@rmargin ->\Geom@rmargin

l.128 ...\beamer@sidebarside=\beamer@sidebarwidth}

Despite the error message, I do get a PDF output file which looks
fine.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

are you using latest version of TeX Live (2011 or 2012-pretest)? If
not, can you upgrade?

This is a known problem with incompatible versions of beamer and geometry.

Hi again,

I'm not sure. How do I check? It appears that TeX Live 2011 is frozen
for updates. Or are you referring to beamer upgrades?

I faced the same problem. 

Solution: You just add the following line before \documentclass{beamer}

           \makeatletter\let\ifGm@compatii\relax\makeatother

           \documentclass{beamer}
