I didn't keep the messages from the BoB list, so lets post up a list
of leash-free parks that are beagle-friendly. Post replies here and I
will gather them all into a "page" that anyone can find and refer to
easily. Include a map link if you can! To start us off (and note
that my ratings are based on beagle suitability, so don't crab at me
for the low score at Jack Darling):
WAG Park, Burlington: Excellent park, well kept, lots of parking,
very friendly crowd, well-policed for both behaviour and poop. Poop
bags usually provided. There is also a roofed shelter for bad days.
Fully-fenced, and you can see your dog at all times. The city took
away the water tank, however, so bring your own on hot days. Fence is
beagle-proof.

SPCA Leash Free, Hamilton: Not so good. It is right near my house
but I drive to Burlington anyway. You can lose sight of your dog if
they are quick, and there have been some biting incidents in the
past. Lots of parking. Fence-is nominally beagle-proof but can have
holes.

Glen Abbey Park, Oakville: Small park, but very clean. Lots of
parking. No facilities beyond a couple of picnic tables. usually
quiet. Fence is beagle-proof.

Jack Darling Park, Mississauga: HUGE park, with tons of terrain.
Very easy to lose sight of a fast dog. The fence is NOT traditional
chain-link fence, it is farm fence that will keep in large dogs, but
small dogs (like, oh, beagles) can crawl right through it if they get
the mind to. Lots of parking, and very well attended. I won't take
my dogs there because of the fence.
