I have seen several unexpected reboots with a clean image with 4.1.0-rc8-bone9.
Both with a BBW and BBB, and with a clean power supply.
Is it possible to find the OMAP and PMIC reset reasons?

Yes, this has been fixed, and pushed to mainline..
what kernel are you having issues with:
uname -r
