I've tried the instructions here...
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-beagleboard-xm/index.html
And everything seems to work up until the "Insert the card into the
BeagleBoard-xM and apply power."
All I see is some funny characters in Minicom. Just the one LED comes
on. I see nothing on the Screen directly hooked up to the beagleboard. I
can wait much longer than 10 minutes and nothing happens.
I tried two different brand new microSD cards... same thing.
I'm using a 5 volt external power supply, and not the USB OTG to power
it. It works just find with the Demo microSD card that came with it and
all the diagnostics check out.
Is there something about the xM Rev C board that makes all this not
work?
and you did this:
chmod +x mkcard.txt ; sudo ./mkcard.txt /dev/sdg ?

Does the other image have a different minicom set up?

Which revision of the Beagleboard xM do you have? I have Rev C.
