Hello folks,

Hope everyone has been well.

I recently was flashing my BB Wireless (SD -> eMMC) and mid-flash lost power to the device. After power cycling, the BeagleBone was still able to flash properly.. or so it seemed.

Now when I go to create a new image for production purposes (eMMC -> SD) using the tool: /opt/scripts/tools/beaglebone-black-eMMC-flasher.sh

I get the following error:

Error: script halting, system unrecognized...

I was running this script no problem prior to the power outage fiasco.

I am assuming there is something corrupted with uBoot which is causing this issue. Is there any way to completely clean the BB and bring it back to a recognized state.

Perhaps something along the lines of: sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/mmcblk1 bs=1M count=1. Unfortunately, this destructive command even did not do the trick..

Thanks,

Robert

Did you read the readme.txt in that base directory?

https://github.com/RobertCNelson/boot-scripts/tree/master/tools

***************************
WARNING: Do not use:

beaglebone-black-eMMC-flasher.sh
init-eMMC-flasher.sh

They are only in this directory for support of the Ancient 2014 release.
*****************

SD -> eMMC:

sudo /opt/scripts/tools/eMMC/init-eMMC-flasher-v3.sh

eMMC -> SD:

sudo /opt/scripts/tools/eMMC/beaglebone-black-make-microSD-flasher-from-eMMC.sh

Side, note, it's been 6 years, maybe it's time to nuke all 2014
compatibility. ;)

Regards,

Wow... I can't believe I mixed that directory up after using this script so much...

Thanks Robert!
