Normally jackd fails to run on the Beagleboard Angstrom distro when
audio capture is enabled. Jackd can be made to run if given the right
arguments.

# jackd -d alsa -p 256 -n 4 -P hw:0 -C hw:0 -S -r 48000

Important settings seem to be -p 256 -n 4.

Tested on Rev C4 with jack-server_0.118.0-r0.5_armv7a.ipk .

I have a patch which makes these working values the default for jackd
in angstrom. Who can review and commit it?

Great work.

I guess Koen is reading your message anyway. But normally you should
send patches for Ȧngström to developer list [1].

Thanks,

Paul

BTW I was also able to get Jack started under Ubuntu 10.04 lucid using
these parameters.

Thanks!

Best,
Ed

I'm running jackmp, jack_lsp just hangs there - Ubuntu on a C3.
Slightly off-topic I can't get anything recorded from the Mic, neither
on Ubuntu nor on Angstrom narcissus. It seems to record a wav file OK,
but on playback I just get white noise.

I am using jackmp as I especially need jack_connect, no problems on
openSUSE 11.3 or Kubuntu 10.04 LTS x86_64 boxes.
