I want to connect an analog output sensor from 0 to 5 volts. The adc by specifications has a range of 0 1.8V. Is it possible to change this range?

No. It is fixed at 1.8V.

Geralds answer wasn’t complete. It is true that you cannot exceed the 1v8 input range of the ADC, but you can add a circuit before the ADC input that will convert the range from 0 to 5 volts -> 0 to 1v8. I would recommend that you ask a hardware engineer to assist you with this task as it is difficult to get this right if you have no experience in this area. Search Google for “ADC range opamp” for circuit examples.

Regards,
John
