Hi,
I am writing this just to inform you that I started to roll out BeagleBone Black images [1] [2] of Sabayon Linux [3].
If you like a Gentoo-based system with a binary package manager, you're at home.
The images come with Linux 3.8.13 (w/device tree), systemd 204 and are built on top of Gentoo unstable.

Is this a flasher or run-from-microSD ?

Your hard work in putting together this image is appreciated.

In light of the recent relevations about PowerVR driver support, I expected that either there would be no GLX extension in X, or else it would be software rendering by Mesa.

But xdpyinfo shows the GLX and SGI-GLX extensions and glxinfo shows Direct Rendering: Yes.  That's great.

However, glxinfo also says that the vendor is VMware, which is very weird.  And glxgears crashes.

Any idea why the Sabayon repository would contain packages built this way?

(To reproduce, you'll need at least the xdpyinfo and mesa-progs packages installed.  I have also installed xterm and xf86-drivers-omap)

Rather, xf86-video-omap

I suspected as much, but if the matching hardware isn't present it should just not load.

Having xdpyinfo and glxinfo report that OpenGL is available, and then glxgears Seg-Fault, is broken.

Does this kernel support the userpace spidev driver?

I've no idea how to get started with the dev-tree stuff, and besides I want to just use the Beaglebone, not develop/modify system code for it.  I can follow a clear recipe to patch and cross-compile a kernel, but I just don't have the time available to do much more than that.
