Hi,
I'm trying to set new limits for the audio group, in order to use jack (audio routing), which needs the following settings.

debian@beaglebone:~$ cat /etc/security/limits.conf

@audio - memlock 256000
@audio - rtprio 99
@audio - nice -19

after reboot, checking the current limits:

debian@beaglebone:~$ ulimit -a
core file size          (blocks, -c) 0
data seg size           (kbytes, -d) unlimited
scheduling priority             (-e) 0
file size               (blocks, -f) unlimited
pending signals                 (-i) 3952
max locked memory       (kbytes, -l) 64
max memory size         (kbytes, -m) unlimited
open files                      (-n) 1024
pipe size            (512 bytes, -p) 8
POSIX message queues     (bytes, -q) 819200
real-time priority              (-r) 0
stack size              (kbytes, -s) 8192
cpu time               (seconds, -t) unlimited
max user processes              (-u) 3952
virtual memory          (kbytes, -v) unlimited
file locks                      (-x) unlimited

The changes don’t seem to have any effect. Am I missing something basic?
I’m logging from an OS X terminal and using the latest debian 7.82015-03-01 console flasher.

Thanks,
Ivan

try this...

sudo pico /etc/ssh/sshd_config #and at the bottom change to…

UsePAM yes

and reboot.

hopefully that'll do it.
