apt-get command not found on Beaglebone black (kernel 4.4.113 and kernel 3.8.13)

Hi all, i tried compiling two different kernals for beaglebone black and both are booting successfully but apt-get command is not working on both.I am attaching the kernel source code which i tried

1)git clone https://github.com/beagleboard/linux.git    .Following these steps https://embedjournal.com/kernel-compilation-beaglebone-black/

2)https://elinux.org/Building_BBB_Kernel 

Can you suggest what else needs to be done so that it works on the compiled kernel for beaglebone black.
