Tightvnc connection key mapping

Hi all!  I have recently updated my BBB with the latest debian image (9.1 2017-08-31 4GB SD LXQT). Since the update, I have found that when I remote in using Tightvncserver, the keys I press on my keyboard do not mimic on the BBB terminal window. For instance when I press the 's' key I get 'b' on the terminal window. Please advise! Thanks in advance.
