Hi,

Recently flashed a new BBB with Ubuntu 14.04 image but screen is flickering at the console login screen. When the mouse is moved, the system just freezes.

The BBB is powered from mains and keyboard/mouse is connected via USB hub. Connected to display via HDMI.

Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions on how to resolve it?

Thanks in advance.

make sure you are using the "fbdev" driver:

Hi Robert, thanks for the response and apologies for the delay getting back to you. This has improved the screen flicker issue. On the login screen, I'm being prompted for a password for 'Demo User' and after entering temppwd, I am thrown back to the same login screen.

I'm not sure what I need to do with xrandr? Do I just run this from a terminal session? Currently, it says 'Can't open display' when running it.
