PRU DMA Example

I tried to launch some examples using chain DMA+PRU. I found this git repository  https://github.com/maciejjo/beaglebone-pru-dma (There is guide i used to launch example: https://github.com/maciejjo/beaglebone-pru-dma/tree/master/Documentation) But i didn't make it cause of troubles with building new patching kernel. Are there some more simply examples with PRU and DMA. And maybe there are some more ways to launch examples (without creating module and patching/building kernel).
