How to add splash screen

I have a question about how I can add a splash screen for my beaglebone black with kernel 4.4 (Debian). This is the image that i download from the official website https://beagleboard.org/latest-images. 

Is there any way do to add the splash screen easily? Without rebuilding the u-boot (and actually I don't know how to rebuild).
