When will BB-xM be available?

Hello,

As I have ordered BeagleBoard-xM from Digikey, the expected shipment
date was at the end of June, exacly as I expected. However, yesterday
the expected shipment date on my order changed to the middle of
November - half a year layer!
Is the demand for the new BB so big that the lead time is so long? Is
there a chance that could receive my board as I originally expected?

The -xM is not yet in production. In other words, we are no yet building any boards. We hope to start production soon, but we still have issues to work out on the board. The board is not yet ready for production. The leadtime being quoted is there at the discretion of the distributors as they have not been given delivery dates from us, because, we are not yet in production.

You can place orders with Digi-Key now by visiting http://beagleboard.org/buyxM.
As Gerald stated, these are all pre-orders. Further, we are still
working through the export classification, so many international
orders may not be accepted at this time. We had that same problem on
the initial BeagleBoard launch and expect to work through that as well
with in a few weeks.

Any idea whether the ECCN process has to wait for the board issues to
be resolved first, please? Thanks.
