Try re-installing the factory image as described in the link below.

I attempted to update the angstrom image on eMMC on my beaglebone black and it failed. It started to error after about 2.5 hours. And now when i connect the beaglebone via USB i don't see any usb disks. I tried on a Mac and Linux computer and they both see no disks. From watching dmesg the usb networking thing starts to show up but doesn't configure, but no sign of a usb disk. The only LED that comes on is "PWR".

How do i get the usb disk to show up so can re-install the OS image?

Ah i must of have been following directions from a old style beagle bone. I was trying to flash it directly on the board.

Imaging the sd card then having it copy to the eMMC seems to be working, It's still coping right now.
