Out of the box I am having great difficulty connecting my beaglebone blue to any other device via bluetooth using the command line bluetoothctl module.

In brief, from the command line I can go into the bluetoothctl utility. From there I have been able to successfully pair to my phone. I can then momentarily connect to my phone with this command:
[bluetooth]# connect AC:37:43:80:C5:DD

after I verify the confirmation code from both phone and beaglebone it initially connects giving me this line:
[CHG] Device AC:37:43:80:C5:DD Connected: yes

Then 10 seconds later it notifies me that I have been disconnected with this line:
[CHG] Device AC:37:43:80:C5:DD Connected: no

Typing:
[bluetooth]# info AC:37:43:80:C5:DD
Gives:
Device AC:37:43:80:C5:DD

I've tried to connect to a couple of different devices with the same results.

Linux beaglebone 4.4.59-ti-r96 #1 SMP Tue Apr 4 17:39:20 UTC 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux
Bluetoothctl version 5.23

I ended trying the latest June 2018 beaglebone image along with the latest Bluetoothctl version. But that didn't work either. I was getting 'no controller available' messages when I issued any command within bluetoothctl.

I welcome any and all suggestions for getting through this...

Thanks.

If your Bluetooth is not working and there is connection problem with the Bluetooth for solution try the following things for solution Check your Bluetooth driver is active or upgrade and update ypur Bluetooth Drivr with Newr Version, Check the visiblity of Bluetooth is on or not, Clear the cached data, check the device is discoverable, and also the device is in the range etc I think this helps you to fix your Bluetooth connection. If you have HP laptop and Computer and facing the proble of HP Accelerometer error with Windows 10 or any other Windows version and other devices click on HP Accelerometer.

I am having same problem. I have most recent image and drivers.  When in "bluetoothctl" can see my phone and get info about phone, but cannot connect.  Range should not be a problem as phone is less than a foot from bb blue.  Any suggestions as what to try?
P.S. F Stanford wrote that on his he could connect momentarily.  I just get "Connected - no"

Hi Mr Steven,

I am having a Bluetooth problem also, I am working with Beaglebone blue, I am trying to test Bluetooth connection.

I am trying with Bluetoothctl, I did the scan, I found devices, It works and I did trust and pair devices with success, but when I want do connect I had this error: Failed to connect: org. bluez. Error. Already Exists.

Please, did you meet this problem or can you help me to fix it.

Thank you!

Ahmed
