So for the last week I have been embroiled in a very exciting and VERY
long-overdue bathroom remodel! My very good friend Scott, who you may
remember was my assistant for a time, is unexpectedly without work
(the high-end remodel company he works for had a project fall through
at the last minute) and he cannot stand not working, so after a couple
of days he went stir-crazy and called me. "You want to move your
bathroom door tomorrow?"

Not one to balk when opportunity knocks, my answer was an enthusiastic
"YES!" and he showed up at 8 am on Monday with a truckload of tools.
He wasn't in it just to hang a door... by the time he was done with
that first day, he had me convinced to tear out and rebuild an entire
wall. The plumbing for the sink is moved, and all the wiring is
redone. He's removed the old wall vent and roughed-in a new one. The
existing linen closet has been repaired and the doors re-hung, the
wall is rebuilt, and tomorrow we finish insulating and sheet-rocking,
followed by installing the most perfect vintage inset medicine cabinet
and wall-hung sink. He wants to be mudding by Sunday so that I can
paint by Tuesday, and then we'll tile the floor and re-grout the
shower to get rid of the mildew... I'm telling you, this is a man on a
mission, and I am a lucky lady to have a bored friend who just happens
to be a meticulous carpenter! I am going from having one of the most
appalling, unappealing, impractical bathrooms in the history of indoor
plumbing to one of the cutest ever. After years of this bathroom
depressing me, I'm so excited!

OK, wow, I just went on at length about my bathroom. I'm sorry! You
probably couldn't care less about my bathroom. Let me tell you about
what you are probably waiting for me to get to; the beads.

I made some beads! Yes, and they are even up on my website as of right
now. With so much energy devoted to my bathroom, I mostly focused on
simple basics this week; pretty pearlescents:

One really lovely metallic silver glass set in an unusual green:

And one vintage recycled stained glass that reminds me of koi ponds:

Thank you so much for looking, I hope you like what you see!
