For your information:

SB 1138 is scheduled for a Senate hearing Tuesday, February 24 at 8:00 AM at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix. SB 1138 is a "Flock Protection Bill" not a Citizen Protection Bill.

It exempts ALPR data from public records scrutiny, shielding misuse while allowing broad warrantless scanning. Unauthorized third-party release of data/images is only a misdemeanor and it makes no provision for citizens to veto surveillance in their own town. This is a terrible bill, no question. You can see it here.

We can kill this bill this Tuesday if we make a powerful statement that can't be ignored. Monday has been designated a Day of Protest. Please contact the committee members on Monday and make your voice heard. (See graphic below for phone numbers. If you can't view the graphic, I've attached it below). We are a united voice for the people, and we will be heard.

Lawmakers just changed SB1138 with what is called a "striker" because it strikes all the language in a bill and totally changes it.

SB 1138 is now totally different. It’s not the ALPR bill it was originally, so there is no action to take on it.

SB 1111 is the ALPR bill going through the senate which has major problems. Here it is https://www.azleg.gov/legtext/57leg/2R/bills/SB1111P.pdf

SB 1111 is a bad bill. It does not provide citizens with real protections. It’s basically a "Protect Flock" bill.

Please call the senators in the message below and register your opposition.

Thanks!!
