These are the bylaws as revised by Hector and Melissa, i've taken out
the edits so that it's easier to read. I made two changes that i
propose (all changes are provisional until we approve by acclaim at
the next meeting). Instead of four required general membership
meetings a year i propose only two. We can still have more, but i
suspect general membership meetings will be a lot of work, and it will
be hard to get enough members to come out to establish a solid
quorum. One in spring and one in fall will be an accomplishment,
and if we want to have more we can. The other change was that i
eliminated the 3 term limit for board members (but not for
officers). I'd hate to have to ask an experienced, dedicated board
member to step down after 6 years if they didn't want to. Our board
is set to go up to as many as 15 people, so we should always able to
add more people as they become interested and want to have an
impact. Officers (chair, vice chair, secretary, treasurer) could
serve no more than 3 consecutive terms. I agree with this because we
should always be developing new leadership.
