Hello

Hope you have all had a good Easter.

I am sending this email as promised at our last meeting. I thought I would leave it a week or so for everything to settle down.

So, at our emergency AGM we undertook a number of votes.

1. We decided that the band as it stood was no longer viable for regular practice or for accepting gigs and we agreed to disband.

2. We decided that the instruments were to be offered to the Shoreham Beach primary school in the first instance and that current band members who were planning to move onto other samva bands could take an unstrument if they so wished.

3. We decided that the money in our band account, once debts were paid,  should be split between upto 4 charities nominated and voted by the band nembers.

Since the meeting the Shoreham Beach primary school gave indicated thay would be very interested in the instruments. I will get in touch with them after the Easter holidays to arrange collection.

Jonathan has informed Barry who books the hall and I habe forwaded the email trail onto Chris to finalise payment for the hall etc. Has this been done Chris?

Jonathan has indicated he would like to keep a Top Surdo ate the hall for chirch use. I have aggreed to this.

A few band members decuded to keep their instruments.

Money; we now need to nominate some charities for the money remaining in our account.

I have 2 ideas; The shoreham fort society and the Barracudas Explorer scouts in Lancing (my son attends so a little biased) , they try and subsidise their camping trips and DofE expeditions etc so that the explorers can all rake part regardless of financial background. Please let me know any other ideas and I will send a list out for a vote.

We will arrange a meal out once Tim Vary is back from his travels in about 4 weeks. I will send a separate email so as mot to confuse things.

Its been a pleasure playing Samba with you all xx

Hi all,

Only just remembered to forward your email into WhatsApp... sorry!

My votes go to Church of the Good Shepard and XXXX Explorer Scout Unit (the scout unit I used to help out at and belong to - another biased answer!)

Thanks,
Dave
