Two days ago we broke the news, and now it is confirmed: the Blu-ray
release of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy' is
delayed to 2010. Studio and industry sources have informed our friends
at The Digital Bits that the BD trilogy is no longer on the 2009
schedule, and is now tentatively slated for early 2010 (probably
March).
No official confirmation of the delay is to be expected, as the title
was never officially announced in the first place.

the nine-disc set will go on sale on April 6, 2010 and include the
theatrical versions of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and
The Return of the King, seven hours of special features (albeit mostly
features that were on the original versions), digital copies of each
film, and BD-Live access. The set will retail for $99.98.

Iemand zin om eens te vergelijken met wat er op de diverse DVDs stond
als extra's, en of dat overeenkomt?

Even verder gezocht, en 't is een gigantische rip-off:
- De 3 discs met extra's zouden niet in Blu-ray zijn, dus gewoon
telkens de tweede disc van de reguliere 2-DVD-sets.
- en drie discs bevatten elk een digital copy van de film (voor je
iPod etc).
Dus eigenlijk betaal je $99 voor Blu-ray-versies van de
bioscoop-versies van de drie films.
Jongens jongens, wat een FAIL. En dan maar zagen dat de mensen
downloaden.
