terminal keuze

Hoi bcol,

Onder osx gebruik ik om een reden dat ik niet meer weet niet de
standaard terminal maar iTerm. Eén van de features dat het heeft is dat
de titelbalk knippert als er iets gebeurd. Je kunt aan de hand van die
balk zien of het process gedaan is of als er nieuwe data is verschenen
(bijvoorbeeld bij een tail).

Onder linux gebruik ik meest gnome-terminal en soms wel eens
xfce4-terminal maar beide hebben geen zo'n *blink*-feature. Is er
iemand die me een gelijkaardige terminal kan aanraden onder linux?

tmux heeft zoiets met monitor-activity.

xfce4-terminal heeft dat wel voor tabs (althans, in de versie die ik
gebruik), in preferences->Appearance. Zie

Het staat daar een beetje krom, dat wel:

Tab Activity Indicator

The time in seconds a non-active tab title will be highlighted in the Tab
activity color, you can set in the Colors tab. If the time expired and the
tab is not visited yet, the color will be changed to the color between the
activity color and the normal text color defined by the theme.

To disable this feature, set the time to 0.

Vorige week was ik toevallig aan het experimenteren met xfce4 en toen
zag ik inderdaad zo ongeveer wat ik bedoelde. ;-) Ik heb het wel nog
niet dieper uitgespit.
