I became one by accident. Yeh U will not believed it but I did it
just after I got married to my school days girlfriend.
We got married in early 80's and rented a small house at Medan
Damansara. She was working in a Clinic nearby MDamansara. We have
nothing axcept a piece of string to hang our clothing in the room, an
old matress (I got it from my old house), a Tin pot to boil water for
tea/coffe using a coil heater and a washing machine. Our house was
empty without any TV or dining table or chairs. We eat using a simple
tikar (carpet) mengkuang.
Every month we start to buy things that we believed are important.
All were from our monthly salaries. She earn about 1,500 and I was
earning about 2,000.
Week become months and months become year. We managed to fill up the
house and was quite confortable.
One day while reading the newpaper, we saw an advertisement about a
new house launched Subang Jaya. Rows of people qew up to buy but we
were fortunate since my wife school mate was the officer in charged.
We walked in and booked one that we can effort. Yes a link house 2
stories worth about 80,000 at that time.
We stayed there for 4 years shutllingup and down to KL.
After four year I teased my wife that we shud moved to a larger house,
semi-D just across the road. A new house by the same developer.
We put our house for sale and we were suprised we got 180,000 offer
without any negotiation on the price. Well, the house was in a very
good condition since my wife is a bit crazy about making it looks
good. We have this nice wall paper that makes the house looks
expensive.
With that money we book the new semi-D costing us just about
200,000. With both our salary we easily got a MBSB to be our
financier.
Weeks and months and years passed by. This time we received a call
from Subang Jaya Developer saying that there is a new phase consited
of bungalows on the top of the hill which is about 400,000 per unit.
Well we never looked back, we book one and we sold the semi-D double
the price we bought. Yes 400,000.
We now moved to this new bangalow that I never dream to owned and stay
in one.
After staying in Subang for almost 12 years and working in KL up and
down, I got tired of driving since the traffic was getting too much on
the federal highway. The jam was spilling over to our doorstep and if
it rains I will take 2 hours to reach home.
I utter to my wife that I wanted to rent a small apartment in KL and
if I am tired I will stay there.
We argued and quarrel over the issue and nearly cost my marriege.
Well, U will suprised what happened next. She decided to sell the
bungalow and moved to KL.
One day while at home she received a call asking for me but it was a
wrong person. Well U know women, they start to chat and the other
person on the phine indicated that there is a bungalow for sale at
Jalan Dungun, Damasara at a very good price. The owner lost a lot in
the stock market and wanted to sell.
My wife quitely went to look at the bungalow and the moment she reahed
home she told me that whe have bouth the bungalow. I was shocked,
suprised and cud not believed my ear.
"What U did that without consulting me". "How are we going to find the
money to own two bungalows" I said.
The next day she went to wash her hair and drop by at the grocery shop
and uttered the word that she wanted to sell the bungalow.
U will never believed what happenned next???
The grocery shop owner came to see the house and bougth the bungalow
at 850,000 cash !!!
Mama mia what a luck 111
I cud not believe this miracle and we are close to the 1,000,000 mark.
When we were at the lawyer office to sign the agreement the grocery
owner brought with him 100,000 cash for us as the deposit. We did not
asked for that much but that will be the money to pay deposit to the
Dungun bungalow.
So we moved to our smaller but convenient new bunglow. The new
bugnalow was only about 450,000. So we do have some extra.
After staying there for 4 years, one day I told my wife I was tired of
looking after the Gardern. We have a sizable gardern and I need to
water the plants everyday. At one ocrner we have a waterfall pool
where we have some fish in it. My wife also like to have this plants
with lots of thorns.
I told her I am too busy to do anymore gardening, so let us move to
apartment.
Well what we did was to advertise in the Malay Mail and scores of
people came to view the house. Some came via the property agents and
so forth.
Well after two motnhs there was no takers. I was disappointed.
One day when collecting my letters from the house letter box I
received an offer that I cud not refuse.
This guy told us that he and wife came to look at the house 3 months
ago and have decided to buy direct from us. They offered 850,000.
Remember we bought at 450,000.
I discussed with my wife and we decided topush the bungalow to
1,050,000. Take it or leave it. We did not expect the buyer to say
yes.
To our suprise he said yes. Wa lau wai, we got our first MILLION.
Will continue some more later .......
When he said yes, we were delighted and that was I 1st million and we
have hit the jackpot.
We quickly got the sales and purchase agreement done and at the same
time started to look around whee we shud be moving to.
Well along the road to this house there is a nice condo that cought my
attention for some time. Since we have the deposit we drop by the
unit and asked around on any units available.
We were lucky, the developer indicated that they do have a couple of
units which they wanted to disposed after keeping them for their own
purposes.
The price offered was not only attractive but the same as when it was
lauched, two year ago.
We booked not one but two units. Each was about RM750,000. So we
have two units.
We thought of renting one and stay in one.
Since the unit was ready to be occupied, we went in as early as we can
since we wanted to enjoy the benefits of not cutting the grass and so
forth.
The unit we choose were on the 3rd floor and at this level less
mosquitos will be able to climb up.
The second unit we rented out at a very handsome price. We now have
an apartment for our stay and one for rental. What a good deal.
Frankly from then on we became a bit carried away until at one one we
owned 13 units of houses, apartments, shoplots and a factory.
Well the truth is that if U wish to be a millionaire U shud follow
what I did and do not let this sentimental feeling about the houses U
stays bog u down until U refuse to move. Take it that there is always
a better place to stay if U tune your life to it.
Move to a better house all the time and make sure sell the old house
at a better price.
Will Continue .....
