cameras have dropped dramatically in the past year. What you may
not realize is that prices for cameras at the bottom of the market
have dropped as well, making it an ideal time to snap up a cheap
point-and-shoot.

Here are three Editor's Choice digital cameras that will please everyone from
budding hobbyists to professional photographers:
Canon PowerShot A630
The 8MP Canon PowerShot A630 may be a bit bulky for a compact
camera, but the great physical controls and easy-to-use
features will appeal to those who appreciate a variety of
settings to capture their photos. It boasts a big, bright
articulating 2.5-inch LCD; easy-to-use manual controls; a
direct-vision viewfinder; 4X optical zoom, and lots of
manual controls. Our current lowest listing is $241.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 is a 6-megapixel camera with an
outstanding 12X optical zoom. The lens has a 6mm to 72mm range
(equivalent to a 35mm lens with a 36mm to 432mm zoom) and
corresponding maximum f-stops of f/2.8 to f/3.2. The aperture
range is quite nice for the telephoto end of the zoom. That
means you'll have a better chance of capturing a sharp picture
in low light when using the zoom. We have it listed for as
little as $250, a drop from $400.

With its high megapixel count and sophisticated imaging system,
many photo enthusiasts -- even pros -- will enjoy the little
Fuji FinePix E900 compact digital camera. It features large file
sizes for cropping and large prints, natural light mode for flash-free
shots, RAW file capabilities, and a glass viewfinder. Perhaps best
of all, it uses easy-to-find double-A batteries. You can have it
now for $256, a drop from $500.
