Huzzah - we're day gaming Wednesday with Bruce, Dave, and Lupes.  Taking bets on how many of the three Acts we complete.  1? 2? 3?  The key is this week Lupes seems to know the name of the game we're playing.

Week of 7/30 table is booked, so perhaps we'll return during the monthlong celebration of me being old.

If I post enough links someone will read it and share my excitement.

The Arcs campaign was …unsatisfying.  We played through act one and most of two and quit.  Perhaps at some point in the future we will try again, for sure not all in one day.
Ah well, there are always more games…

Not the update I was expecting. Did you quit because of Time? Or because it wasn’t going well

Time was a factor but not the primary factor.  We ditched the last hand of cards mainly because we had decided at that point the likelihood of playing the third act was minimal and we had been there for a while.
I mean, I’d try again but probably not all at once.

The first act was good, at least I enjoyed it. There were lots of new systems on top of the game we've played, but it felt manageable. When act two hit, those systems either remained, partially remained, or were present in a different way, then we added at least five new systems of play into the game. If there was a week in between, where we could read about all of those before we played, I think it would be cool. BUT (as Joe said elsewhere) is it better than just playing the core game?
Anyways, ARCS is still my favorite of Joe's many games.

Arcs is cool, any campaign game is going to require free time which is in short supply for board games.  The week between sessions idea is neat, but it assumes the same people could maintain a schedule and would have time to look at things outside of game night, I've found that to be hit or miss.  I was hoping the mini-campaign structure for Arcs would be an improvement over the all consuming Charterstone/Scythe campaigns but still feels like it's too much.  Onto the next game.
