coupling Energy plus and Matlab

in order to do an university research, I need to couple Energy plus and Matlab 

software. I read the BCVTB user manual and I still have problem. is there any other reference or videos that could help to link these two software?.i have my modeled  energy plus IDF file and follow the instruction mentioned in the manual but have problem  developing Ptolemy structure where these software link.  I would be really grateful if you  help me.
