Come to the BCSWomen Lovelace Colloquium!

This one day event for women students of computing (and other
interested people) will be in Birmingham on 14th April. It is aimed at
women undergraduate and masters students, but A-level students should
also find the day interesting.

Welcome and registration starts at 9.15. The formal part of the day
runs from
10am to 5.30pm, and is followed by a networking social until around 7
(with
cake).

The speakers are...

* Angela Sasse, Head of Information Security Research, UCL

* Tracy Gardner, Consumability Architect and Senior Technical Staff
Member, IBM Hursley

* Maggie Berry, director of womenintechnology.co.uk

* Jennifer Sheridan, Head of User Experience Design, BigDog
interactive http://jennifersheridan.com/wp/

* Bianca Milatinovici, Software Engineer, Google Zurich

There will also be a panel session on working in technology, with
Jennie Lees (Google Mountain View), BCSWomen chair Karen Petrie
(Dundee University), Chrystie Myketiak (CS4FN & Queen Mary University
of London), and others.

The centrepiece of the day is a poster contest showcasing work from
women undergraduate students.

The day is free to attend (including lunch) - to register, email
bcswomen...@gmail.com with your full name, affiliation (e.g.
"Hillside College") and job title (e.g. "Undergraduate student",
"College student", "Schoolteacher"). Whilst this is an event for
women-in-tech it is not exclusive and interested men are welcome to
sign up. Places are limited, so register soon!
