In China today, where you are born determines what life opportunities you will have.  Less than 3% of Chinese students in under-resourced, rural schools make it to college, compared to 80% of students in wealthy, urban schools.

Over 200 million Chinese students have severely limited access to quality education.

Teach For China believes this CAN and MUST be changed.

Teach For China is committed to eliminating educational inequity in China by enlisting the most promising future leaders in the effort.  Each year, Teach For China selects a cohort of outstanding Chinese and American university graduates to work as Teaching Fellows in China’s most under-resourced schools for two years. Teach For China Fellows will become leaders in their classrooms and go on to become leaders in a variety of fields committed to ending educational inequity in China.

Teach For China is partnered with Teach For America and the global Teach For All network. We are funded by generous support from Henry Luce Foundation, The Li Ka Shing Foundation, and Goldman Sachs, among others.

Together, we are building a global movement of leaders committed to fundamentally changing the status quo. We believe that one day, all children—rich or poor, American or Chinese, urban or rural—will have access to a quality education.

I am excited to let you know that Teach For China's Director of US Recruitment & Selections, David Jordan, will be on-campus on Wednesday, January 16, meeting informally with select students about this fellowship opportunity at Café Strada. David is an alum of both Teach For America and Princeton-in-Asia. He is eager to learn more about your accomplishments at UC Berekeley and also share more about his own experiences with educational equity and China. He will be meeting with students individually for 30-minute segments from 10 AM – 4 PM. What are a few time slots that would work well for you? Again this is not an interview, simply a chance to sit down over coffee and learn more! Email Zabrina (address below) to book your appointment!
