Job Description:
Note: Every position will have the responsibility of inviting speakers, communicating with professionals, brainstorming forum structure and panel contents. Candidates must be currently enrolled in UC-Berkeley as a full-time student.
Chief Executive Director The Chief Executive Director leads the Executive Board of BCF and the BCF Team, and also serves as Vice President of BCSSA. The chief executive director has overall responsibility for creating, planning, implementing, and integrating the strategic direction of BCF2013. The responsibilities of this position also includes communication between BCF and other Departments of BCSSA.
Director of Internal Operations The Director of Internal Operations is a member of the Executive Board of BCF and is in charge of finance and logistics of BCF. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, budgeting, procurement, event management and coordination on the day of the event.
Director of Academics and Strategy The Director of Strategy and Academics is a member of the Executive Board of BCF and is in charge of strategic planning, content development, writing professional documents, communicating with academic advisors. Good writing and critical thinking skill is a bonus.
Director of Technology The Director of Technology is a member of the Executive Board of BCF The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, editing website, making videos and designing logo, poster, flyer, etc. Familiarity with Web/design/coding knowledge is a bonus.
Director of Public Relations The Director of Public Relations is a member of the Executive Board of BCF and is in charge of media relations and sponsorship. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, establishing and maintaining good relations with news agencies, TV stations, radio stations and other forms of media platforms, seeking financial and other type of sponsorship from all means possible.
Director of Marketing The Director of Marketing is a member of Executive Board of BCF and is in charge of both on-campus and off-campus marketing. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, marketing on various social media platforms, creating marketing campaigns on campus. Previous marketing experience is a plus.
General Board
The General Board of Berkeley China Forum is a subsidiary governing body of Berkeley Chinese Students and Scholars Association. It consists of the President of BCSSA, all six Executive Directors, the former producer of BCF, the former Directors of BCF. The Board supervises the management team of BCF, the general operation of BCF, and has the authority to hire and fire any of the six Executive Directors on the basis of consents of over two thirds of its members.
Executive Board
The Executive Board consists of the Chief Executive Director, the Director of Internal Operations, the Director of Public Relations, the Director of Technology, the Director of Marketing and the Director of Strategy and Academics (in random order). The Executive Board functions as the Management of Berkeley China Forum, and all members have the right and the responsibility to discuss, to give advise on and to execute any matters related to the operations of BCF.
