Dear Leaders of UC-Berkeley CSSA,

I am writing on behalf of Half the Sky, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting orphaned children in China. We learned about UC-Berkeley CSSA's dedicated work with Chinese students through your website and we’d like to invite you to join us in an online project, “ About Love”. The project invites supporters around the world to share their love in order to raise awareness and funds for our programs that serve these children. "About Love" submissions can be in any artistic medium -  e.g. music, drama, photography slideshow, film -  that can be shared on an online video platform. Projects will be uploaded to youtube and linked to the "About Love" channel. Participants are also encouraged to share their videos and online donations pages with family, friends, and online social networks. Participants can choose whether they want to raise funds with their creation and detailed Instructions are included in the end of the email.

Half the Sky was created in order to enrich the lives of orphaned children in China. Half the Sky provides model programs and caregiver training designed to offer loving, family-like care to children of all ages and abilities. It is our goal to ensure that every orphaned child has a caring adult in her life and a chance at a bright future. To find out more about Half the Sky, please visithalfthesky.org.

To participate in the project, please follow the instructions below:

If you plan to fundraise with your artwork submission, you can:

- go to hts.kintera.org/aboutlove

- click register on the left side of the page (first tab)

- Click "I agree" under the Waiver/Agreement

- Choose Start a team if you are submitting this work with other creators or start as an individual. If you are starting a team, others who collaborated with you can select "Join a Team" when they register.

- Pick a name for team if you are starting one.

 - Create an account with username, password and security question of your choice OR login in with an existing social network account (facebook, twitter etc)

- Fill out the registration form, pick out your own personal address for your fundraising page and another address name for your team fundraising page.

- Click continue and you are done registering!!

 - Upload your video onto Youtube and send a link to abou...@halfthesky.org - Please consider including the text "this video was made to raise awareness of Half the Sky's work with orphans in China. Please help us support this important work by sharing the video and/or donating to the cause" and a link to your fundraising page

- Your video will be posted on the About Love youtube channel and included in a playlist for the event. The link will be sent to you through another email and you can browse your work along with others' !

To advertise your work

- You may customize your personal/team fundraising page after you log in at hts.kintera.org/aboutlove under "my webpage" (second tab from left)

- You can send out emails to friends and families to solicit donation through "Email" section (third tab)

- You may review the total amount of donation that people have made for your project under "Reports".

 If you plan to participate without fundraising

- go to hts.kintera.org/aboutlove

- scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Register Here" under "If you plan to participate without fundraising"

- Fill out the registration form
