To Morgan, BCSSA President,

Hi, my name is Wendy Tang, and I'm writing to you on behalf of Strait Talk Berkeley, a grass-roots organization that aims to promote peaceful dialogue regarding cross-Strait relations. Hope all is going well in the midst of this busy spring season!

We are in the midst of preparing for the 2014 Strait Talk Symposium and are calling for applicants to represent the U.S. We were wondering if some members of BCSSA might be interested in applying for our symposium? We'd really appreciate it if you could forward the below message if so!

Thanks a bunch!
Wendy Tang

Interested in cross-Strait relations or East Asian affairs?

Strait Talk Berkeley is currently seeking U.S. applicants for our 2014 Strait Talk Symposium, which is scheduled to take place from April 6 to April 12, 2014, on the UC Berkeley campus.

As a coordinator of the Strait Talk Symposium at UC Berkeley, we are part of a greater movement that aims to mediate cross-Strait dialogue between China and Taiwan. Strait Talk is a non-partisan organization that seeks areas of cooperation by utilizing inter-conflict resolution as a peaceful, logical, and progressive approach. Each year, we host a week-long symposium in which young people from China, Taiwan, and the U.S. unite in a classroom setting and engage in dialogue led by an expert facilitator and TEDx featured speaker, Mr. Tatsushi Arai from the SIT Graduate Institute.

The extended application deadline is Saturday, February 22, 2014Applicants can apply online as representatives of the United States through straittalkberkeley.weebly.com and will receive a travel stipend to UC Berkeley if needed. Further details can be found on the site.

Please feel free to contact us at straittal...@gmail.com if you have further questions.

All the best,

Strait Talk Berkeley Recruitment
