Dear Filmmaker, The 2nd DC Chinese Film Festival, scheduled to take place in September 2014, is now accepting submissions from filmmakers all over the world.   As a non-profit organization, the DC Chinese Film Festival is dedicated to create a greater appreciation of Chinese cinema, and to promote cultural exchange through screening excellent yet-to-be discovered Chinese films to an international audience. During our previous festival in 2012, we showcased 117 films from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Chinese Diaspora. This year the programming committee is searching for: - Chinese language films - Films made by filmmakers of Chinese descent worldwide - Films by international filmmakers with a prevalent Chinese focus Our main competition categories include Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, Narrative Short, Documentary Short, Animation Short and Experimental Short. Additionally, we have created a separate online competition category for student and amateur filmmakers. We hope to build the festival into a cradle for future Chinese cinema. The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2014 and there is NO ENTRY FEE. For more information please visit our official website.
