Isha Guha takes revenge against land of her origin

England outclassed India by nine wickets at the North Sydney Oval to all but secure the No. 1 spot in Group B. The victory was set up by the bowlers - ……….. Isa Guha* gave England the early advantage as she bowled eight overs on the trot after England chose to bowl and struck two early blows while keeping the Indian batsmen on a leash. She trapped Anjum Chopra lbw for a duck and followed up with a caught and bowled to dismiss Thirush Kamini, reducing India to 9 for 2.

*She is the Monty Panesar of the England women's cricket team and Isa Guha, whose parents hail from Kolkata, is busy plotting a revenge against the land of her origin when India take on the hosts for a full series, involving five ODIs and two Test matches.

She also bats in the middle order and is a very attacking bat who is capable of scoring big runs. She has recently used her cricket talents to travel to India in order to raise money for Sport Relief,'' Isa explained.

''She has a lot of experience behind her and always seems to come up trumps with the bat. She is another hard-hitting batsman who looks busy in the crease and can be slightly unorthodox which makes her hard to bowl against.

''She is probably one of our more logical thinkers having studied maths at Oxford,'' she quipped.
