Hey guys,

Did anyone get all of the biophys questions down? I have the answers but missed large chunks of the questions...

Thankfully Michael did! Here they are.

1.            Draw the equivalent circuit of a simple model neuron with a fixed potassium conductance and normal intracellular/extracellular concentrations.

2.            Differential equation for voltage

3.            Square pulse of current in (1) is injected from 0->Inought. Draw figure showing V from current pulse.

4.            What is Vinf? (from #2)

5.            Draw voltage-dependent activation of a potassium channel.

6.            Write down the probability of a potassium channel being open as a function of the Hodgkin-Huxley gating variable n.

7.            Draw steady-state minf in Hodgkin-Huxley as a function of voltage

8.            What does h represent in Hodgkin-Huxley? Draw as a fn of voltage

9.            Voltage-clamp experiment, measuring sodium current. Replace solution with just sodium. Draw sodium current resulting from depolarizing voltage step from -80 to 0.
