SYNOPSIS

How can you implement micro-frontends effectively within your organisation? What are the key strategies and common pitfalls to be aware of? In this session, we'll provide comprehensive answers to these pressing questions, guiding you through both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of micro-frontends. Discover the core characteristics essential for constructing robust, scalable, and maintainable frontend distributed systems.

We will delve into the principles that underpin micro-frontend architectures, such as independent deployment, technology agnosticism, and team autonomy. You'll learn how these principles can enhance development velocity, improve maintainability, and tips on how to create continuous delivery pipelines across large-scale projects. Drawing from real-world case studies, we will explore best practices for designing and developing micro-frontends, highlighting tools and frameworks that can streamline your workflows and foster seamless integration across diverse teams.

A key highlight of the presentation will be a demonstration using Module Federation 2.0. Together, we'll walk through a step-by-step implementation of a micro-frontend architecture, showcasing how to efficiently manage shared dependencies, ensure runtime integration, and handle versioning challenges. By the end of the session, you'll have a clear understanding of how to architect, develop, and deploy micro-frontends in a way that aligns with your organisation's technical and business goals.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

I've been associated with the industry since 2004 and have lent my expertise predominantly in the solution architecture field. I have gained accolades for revolutionising the scalability of frontend architectures with micro-frontends, from increasing the efficiency of workflows to delivering quality in products. My colleagues know me as an excellent communicator who believes in using an interactive approach for understanding and solving problems of varied scopes.

As Principal Serverless Specialist Solutions Architect at AWS, I'm helping our customers to design and implement Serverless workloads efficiently. I am also sharing with the community best practices to develop cloud-native architectures solving technical and organisational challenges.

My core industry knowledge has been instrumental in resolving complex architectural and integration challenges. Working within the scopes of a plethora of technical roles such as tech lead, solutions architect and CTO, I have developed a precise understanding of various technicalities which has helped me to support customers on any stage: from startups to enterprises.
