Howdy!
I wanted to bring to your attention a couple upcoming PHP conferences that have open calls for proposals: PHP Tek and LoneStarPHP.
Speaking at a conference is a lot of work, but it's very rewarding to be able to share your knowledge and experience with others. Both of these conferences are great and would be a great opportunity to share, learn, and network. The bonus of speaking is you usually get your travel compensated heavily if not completely, admission to the entire conference, and all you have to do is put yourself out there in front of 30-200 strangers. (That's a joke, it's not that bad. Really.)
So, if you have any interest I encourage you to checkout both CfPs and submit your talk ideas.
php[tek] 2014 by php|architect in Chicago

LoneStarPHP 2014 in Dallas, TX

Several people from our community have attended LoneStarPHP over the past couple years. It's in our backyard so why not speak or attend?

Jeff
