Dear Psychminded Members,
This semester, Psychminded and BPSA organized an after-school program called Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies at Sutton Elementary School. For 10 weeks, medical students
and residents taught 5th graders about the human body and mental health. Students from our two Baylor classes
along with those who are in the National Honor Society for Elementary Students will be visiting BCM this Thursday, November
29th from 4pm-5:15pm for the WOW
Celebration! The WOW Celebration has traditionally provided our students an opportunity to show medical students, residents, and each other what
they've learned about mental health and body systems via poster presentation. The event will be held at Kleberg
Auditorium, and food/refreshments
will be provided for all who attend.
We will be doing some mindfulness activities with the kids as well as some fun mental health/human body activities/games. Our team would
be very grateful if you could attend if at all possible, so our 5th graders could meet some cool role models. If you would like to lead an activity for
the event, do let us know (Nancy....@bcm.edu or Amy Engler: Amy.E...@bcm.edu).
Hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Your Psychminded Officers & The Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies Team
