Happy Friday everyone! We wanted to share several upcoming great and FREE mental health-related events and opportunities!

 

  1. Vox Storytellers: Artist Voices on Mental Health (partnership with Doctors for Change)

Six local artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines will share their experiences with mental health in hopes of changing community perceptions and reducing stigma.

UTHealth’s McGovern Center for Humanities & Ethics and Student Interest Groups in Neurology & Psychiatry are co-hosting a screening and discussion of this 1999 film chronicling a young woman’s 18-month stay in a psychiatric hospital.

    BCM AMA and PsychMinded are honored to host Dr. Gerber, a psychiatrist at Hauser Clinic and former president of Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians and Houston Psychiatric Society. He will speak on his path to advocacy leadership, the Texas legislature, and mental health policy.
