Building Bridges- A community mental health outreach event in conjunction with the psychiatry residents of PROPS (Psychiatry Residency Outreach to the Public Sector)
May 1st 6:30pm at DeBakey High School
Please join us for a discussion on the portrayal of mental health in the media--led by our renowned psychiatrists, community mental health professionals, and spiritual leaders. They will be discussing topics affecting our adolescents today, including depression, suicide, body
image, and issues involving the LGBT community. Learn how to navigate the stigma around mental health.

LIFT (Learning to Identify & Fight Human Trafficking) Training Seminar

This training event led by the Physicians Against the Trafficking of Humans (PATH) is an interactive lecture-based seminar on understanding human trafficking and how to address this issue in healthcare settings. At the conclusion of the lecture, we will have
a guest Q&A panel consisting of various community partners who work with trafficked survivors.
2nd annual Refugee Mental Health and Wellness conference
April 27th 8:30am-4:30pm, United Way of Greater Houston, 50 Waugh Drive
Sponsored by Alliance for Multicultural Community Service and Physicians for Human Rights at BCM. Our keynote speaker, Qusay Hussein, is a noted motivational speaker and advocate for refugees, those with mental health issues and those with disabilities.
