Dear District Council Members,

I am pleased to share the proposed District 82 Re-alignment with you.

First and foremost I must thank DTM Nirmala Lilly (LGM) Chairman of the re-alignment committee for painstakingly going through all details and completing the re-alignment proposal.

This will be discussed and put forward for your approval on 25th May 2011 at the District Business Meeting in Colombo. Once approved by the District Committee and the District Council, the new alignment will come in to effect from 1st July 2012.

I request you to read this mail carefully and go through the proposed re-alignment carefully. Once approved, the alignment CANNOT be changed until next Ovations in 2013.

As our district is growing rapidly, it has been necessary to add more Divisions and Areas to better manage and service the clubs. We currently have 9 Divisions and 45 Areas.

 

Summary of the Proposal.

 

1.       Bangalore has 79 clubs and they will be spread over 5 divisions namely B,E,L,D & F. Each division will have 4 areas and total of 20 Areas.

2.       Chennai (Tamil Nadu) has 37 Clubs and they will be spread over 3 divisions namely G,M & N. Each division will have 3 areas each and total of 9 Areas.

3.       14 clubs of Kerala will be aligned to division K and will have 4 Areas.

4.       13 clubs of Mangalore and Mysore will belong to Division I with 3 areas.

5.       Sri Lanka will have 82 clubs, and they will be spread over 4 divisions namely A, B, H & J.  Divisions A and B will have 6 areas each and H and J will have 5 areas each. Sri Lanka will have 22 areas in total.

6.       The district will have 14 Divisions and 58 Areas.

7.       I request Nominations Committee Chair IPDG Nagaraja Rao, to call for fresh nominations for the prospective divisions and make recommendations for respective posts. Please be mindful these will be only prospective nominations and elections will be held only after the re-alignment is passed by the house.

 

Please share this information will every member of your club and encourage them to seek new leadership opportunities that has emerged.
