I found this bug (Lygaeus kalmii) in a Milkweed plant near Savona today. I have made inquiries to find out more about its known distribution in BC. The site may be quite normal but I have never encountered this species before. I have seen the Milkweed Beetle (Tetraopes tetrophthalmus) before but Lygaeus is a true bug and not a beetle.
