Almost all are of the views that Buddhist (specially converted Buddhist which are also referred as 'Neo-Buddhist') people must write/specify their religion as "Buddhist" as well as SC -1 and mentioned their previous caste. This suggestion is given because the facility or reservations provided to SC may be either curtail or stopped if converted Buddhist do not mentioned their Scheduled caste. So the purpose is very clear that they want that reservation or facility available to the SCs. But our movement is for "Decaste/Annihilation of Caste system" from India or world and not to get reservation. So also If converted Buddhist mention only "Buddhist" i.e. fill only Religion Column and if not fill their caste/SC column they will get the same facility which is available for SCs as per Constitution (Scheduled Caste) Order, 1990 . So also we must look into/consider the effect of reservation. In the earlier period ( from conversion ) due to reservation no doubt we develop economically but later on the representatives? of SCs in Politics, Education, Employment have done for SCs or making de-caste society or annihilation of caste?which is our main goal. What our? Politician are doing for us or next generation? Most of SC politician are the members of Congress/Rastravadi or BJP etc. and hence obeying the order of High Command , achieving their(Congress) purpose and after knowing this or such bad experience , still some so called intelectuals want to join Congress for doing Babasahab's work?. Some are doing work of BJP/RSS as per their direction.
In addition to this practically as we are raising many issues (as we are awaking people?) the concer govt. dept. not taking converted Buddhist people in the employment, they are taking non-awaken SCs. And now due to LPG (libralisation-Privatisation-Globalisation - 1990-Economic ) disinvestment policies there is hardly any govt. job/employment, then what is the use of reservation in Employment. If you compare Indian Govt. (Either Congress/BJP) has at a time i.e. in the year 1990 given SC status to Buddhist and at the same time practically taken out all facilities by LPG disinvestment etc. For higher education like Ph.D. there is no reservation.
Secondly Buddhists come under Minority also. In order to decaste/annihilation of caste , in Buddhist there must not be any caste. And we also know that the caste which are scheduled are actually not belonging to Buddhist religion. But because of this census when Buddhist started filling SC then govt. may (if we allowed them to do so...?) prepare such scheduled caste list. or use the same.
We are here due to movement and not because of reservation. Because if we would have not started our movement then we might not get reservatiopn also. Thus always remember that we are due to movement. So priority must be given first to the goal of the movement, hence write only religion column i.e. Buddhist and no sc/st.
By saying this I m not denying that we should leave our facility but for that our demand should be for "Special Minority" & not just minority because we know that due to "Sacchar Committee" there is authenticity to existance of caste in Muslim. So also Dalit Christain demanding SC status for them as is done in case of Buddhist converted.
One may object that this ideal situation is yet to come and also that if SCs are not included then Budget for SC may come down. We also know that our allotted Budget is easily transferred to another dept. but still if anybody want to do this, then at least those who are movement oriented and who may false in creamy layer should write only "Buddhist".
I m writing only Buddhist and Open. At least some of us must go with Dr. Babasahab's Goal of Decaste/Annihilation of Caste.
