Navayan dot com: JaiBhim to all !!! -- The primary aim of census used to calculate the population of all the communities in India. -- There are other aspects as well behind this census. Based on the population the community get the their share in the economic plans, educational institutes, legislative... -- We should not forget the goal of Ambedkarite movement - Casteless society! -- Some of our people (including highly educated) in favor to mention their previous castes along with 'Buddhist' religion. -- But its time to re-think now. Caste is the core part of Hindu religion. There is no caste at all in Bouddha Dhamma. Then how could someone write their previous caste, even after conversion to Buddhism? Which are the hidden forces working behind them? How we can eliminate those? -- Writing 'Buddhist' in religion column and leaving blank the caste column doesn't affect the facilities we are getting. There are facilities and reservations for minorities as well. The another good part of writing only 'Buddhist' is, it will generate a sound force to create a separate 'Buddhist Law'. -- The Buddhist Society of India is also raising this point and creating awareness among Buddhist people. We have started an open discussion on this. -- We have written 'Buddhist' in census form.
