Hey folks!

Here's a quick update on what's going on at BCHQ in the coming weeks
(and if you haven't already seen it, check out the cover story on the
front page of the Herald Sun today! We <3 the Herald Sun!):

TONIGHT 8/15: 9PM BCHQ presents Heatwave featuring Team Gina
(queer electro, hip-hop duo), KATASTROPHE (from San Fran, an
up-and-coming, genre-busting, emo-hop mc) and Katz from the Athens
Boys Choir . Don't miss this show!! It'll be the hottest one this
summer!! I saw KATASTROPHE perform with Sister Spit years ago and it
totally blew me away... it can only be better!! Team Gina will make
you get your dance on with a mash-up of politics, pop culture and hot
pink!! Katz is the solo act that has sprung forth from the Athens Boys
Choir we all know and love so well. The show starts at 9pm sharp and
these folks traveled from afar (SF, Atlanta) so there's a suggested $5
donation. As always, BCHQ is an all ages space and is alcohol free. So
come on, come all. Bring your hot pants, your dancin' shoes and forget
that it's a school night!

Friday 8/17: Queer Youth Drop-In from 6-8pm. Stop by. Hang out.
Meet someone new.

Saturday 8/18: Show starts at 6PM SHARP!! Buried Beds (PA),
Physics of Meaning (NC).
Please bring donations for the touring band (and the space if it so
moves you). Early show, so the whole family can come out!!
Rumor has it that Perry from Prayers and Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers
will be performing an acoustic set to kick the show off.
Be there at 6pm sharp, no joke! The show will wrap up around 9pm.
Bring a blanket, some snacks and the family!

Sunday 8/19: 12PM Phatlove Queer Youth Planning Meeting
1-6PM Bike Co-op Open Hours

Monday 8/20: 9PM The tourist, fluff chick and dustin
and the furniture ... acoustic, anti-folk/folk goodness. A quiet
show for a Monday night.

Plus coming up in the future: more Queer Youth drop-in hours, Queer
Prom in October!!, vaudeville, after school tutoring, computers,
WIRELESS!!, and of course more shows featuring the likes of
Filthybird, Cross Laws, Screaming Females and more!!

We heart you and couldn't do this without you.
